DERMAL FILLER FAQs

How long does Filler last?

Results last anywhere from 6-18 months. It depends on the filler we use and your aesthetic goals.

How long does it take to kick in?

You'll start to see results almost immediately and can expect to see full results in about 2 weeks.

Does Filler hurt?

We use a topical anesthetic before making injections to help minimize any discomfort during the treatment. We also use an icepack before and after. You can also take Tylenol before and after to help reduce any pain.

Can I use Fillers if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

We recommend avoiding dermal filler treatments during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

I have a big event coming up! How far in advance should I book my Filler appointment?

You may experience bruising and swelling, which can take 1-2 weeks to go away. Therefore, we don't recommend scheduling your appointment right before a big event.

Possible side effects of Filler injections?

You may experience slight localized swelling, redness, or bruising in the treatment area which can last 3-7 days post-treatment. It is normal to feel “firmness” in the treatment area for the first few days; over time the area will soften.

  • No NSAIDs 72 hours prior to treatment (Ibuprofen, Advil®, Motrin®, Nuprin®, Aleve®, Celebrex®, Fish oil, Flaxseed oil).

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages for 48 hours prior to the treatment as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s).

  • No COVID vaccine or Flu Vaccine for a month prior to or after your filler appointment.

Post-Treatment Instructions:

  • No facials or massages for 1-week post-treatment (if the face is treated).

  • No makeup 12 hours post filler injections.

  • No dental work for one-month post-treatment.

  • Avoid salty foods and alcoholic beverages that evening as they can contribute to swelling.
